GB2 — Advanced Programme

The GB² Programme is the second level of our adult curriculum, designed to guide students from foundational skills to advanced techniques. Building on the principles learned in GB¹, this programme focuses on high-level technique and live drilling.

GB² emphasises the development of reflexes, speed, and reaction time, and enhances students’ ability to transition smoothly between techniques. The programme includes positional training, helping students master control and apply techniques effectively in various situations.

As students progress through GB², they form stronger connections with their training partners and cultivate greater discipline and commitment — contributing to both their Jiu-Jitsu and their overall well-being.

GB3 — Black Belt Programme

The Gracie Barra Black Belt Programme (GB3) is the highest level of our adult Jiu-Jitsu training. It marks the culmination of one journey and the beginning of a more advanced phase — enhancing technical skills, mental strength, and strategic understanding.

In GB3, students focus on advanced techniques, transitions, and guard control. They practise complex submissions and takedowns, improving timing, precision, and positional awareness. Each student develops a game plan that suits their individual strengths.

Live sparring sessions simulate competition intensity and allow students to apply advanced techniques under pressure. GB3 also encourages students to mentor newer members, promoting leadership and a deeper connection to the Gracie Barra philosophy.

No-Gi Programme

Gracie Barra’s No-Gi programme focuses on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques adapted for situations where the traditional gi (uniform) is not worn. While most BJJ practitioners train with a gi, the No-Gi programme prepares students for environments such as MMA competitions or self-defence scenarios, where grips and control need to be adjusted without the use of a jacket and pants.

The No-Gi curriculum covers a wide array of techniques, including takedowns, submissions, sweeps, and positional control, all tailored to the unique challenges of No-Gi grappling. By incorporating elements from wrestling, judo, and submission grappling, the programme equips students with a versatile skill set that is effective both with and without the gi.

GBF — Women's Programme

The Gracie Barra Women’s Programme (GBF) is designed to create a welcoming space for women to start and thrive in Jiu-Jitsu.

The GBF Programme addresses the unique needs of women beginning their Jiu-Jitsu practice. Its purpose is to attract and support more women, encouraging them to start training and providing a structured path to progress through the core programmes: GB1, GB2, and GB3.

Rather than isolating women into a separate curriculum, GBF serves as an on-ramp — building confidence, community, and technique so that every student can grow through the full Gracie Barra programme.
